Overview

MN 08 is a novel small molecule dopamine D3 receptor agonist currently in preclinical development by Motac Neuroscience for the treatment of Parkinson's disease. Unlike traditional dopamine agonists that often target both D2 and D3 receptors, MN 08 is designed to be highly selective for the D3 subtype. The dopamine D3 receptor is predominantly located in the limbic system and is thought to play a crucial role in modulating motor control and cognitive function without the high risk of levodopa-induced dyskinesia (LID) or other motor complications associated with D2 receptor overstimulation. By targeting this specific receptor, Motac Neuroscience aims to provide a new therapeutic option that improves motor symptoms while maintaining a superior safety profile. The asset is part of Motac's internal R&D pipeline focused on central nervous system disorders.
