MN-305 is a potent and highly selective full agonist of the serotonin 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 1A (5-HT1A). It was developed primarily for the treatment of insomnia and anxiety disorders such as Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD). The drug has undergone extensive preclinical toxicology testing with no evidence of genetic mutations, immune response induction, or carcinogenicity. Clinical studies have shown it to be well-tolerated in over 1,200 subjects. MediciNova acquired global rights to MN-305 from Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma Corporation (excluding Japan and select Asian countries)[1][3].
