MNV-101 is an autologous cell therapy developed by Minovia Therapeutics using its Mitochondrial Augmentation Therapy (MAT) platform. The treatment involves enriching a patient's own peripheral hematopoietic stem cells (CD34+ cells) with healthy mitochondria derived from a donor (usually a family member). This process aims to restore mitochondrial function in patients with primary mitochondrial diseases caused by mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) deletions or mutations. It has been studied in pediatric patients with Pearson Syndrome and Kearns-Sayre Syndrome (KSS) to address multi-organ dysfunction and improve clinical outcomes.
