Overview

Mocravimod is a synthetic, orally active small molecule that acts as a sphingosine 1-phosphate (S1P) receptor modulator. Its primary mechanism involves binding to S1P receptors on lymphocytes, leading to receptor internalization and sequestration of lymphocytes within lymphoid organs. This reduces the number of circulating leukocytes and prevents their infiltration into peripheral inflammatory sites. Mocravimod is being developed primarily for use as an adjunctive and maintenance therapy in patients undergoing allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT), particularly for those with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The drug aims to improve outcomes by reducing graft-versus-host disease (GvHD) while preserving the beneficial graft-versus-leukemia (GvL) effect. It has also been investigated in several autoimmune indications and other hematologic malignancies[2][3][4][5][6].
