MOD-201 is a long-acting recombinant version of Granulocyte Colony-Stimulating Factor (G-CSF) that was under development by OPKO Biologics (formerly Prolor Biotech). The drug utilizes C-terminal peptide (CTP) technology, which involves fusing the C-terminal peptide of the human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) beta subunit to the G-CSF protein. This modification is designed to significantly extend the protein's half-life in the bloodstream, allowing for less frequent dosing compared to standard G-CSF. MOD-201 was primarily intended for the treatment and prevention of chemotherapy-induced neutropenia by stimulating the bone marrow to produce neutrophils. Development of the asset was discontinued around 2009-2010.
