MOD-D is a preclinical-stage small molecule inhibitor of WDR5 (WD Repeat Domain 5) being developed by Alivexis for the treatment of various cancer types, particularly those driven by the MYC oncogene. WDR5 acts as a critical scaffold protein within transcription complexes and is an essential cofactor for the signaling of the MYC transcription factor, which is a major driver of oncogenesis in many human cancers. By targeting WDR5, MOD-D disrupts its interaction with MYC, thereby inhibiting tumor growth and disease progression in MYC-dependent malignancies. The program is currently in the final preclinical development phase, focused on identifying a clinical candidate.
