Modakafusp alfa + dexamethasone is an investigational, combination therapy under clinical development for relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. Modakafusp alfa is an immunocytokine fusion protein that delivers attenuated interferon alpha-2b directly to CD38-expressing cells via an anti-CD38 IgG4 monoclonal antibody. This targeted delivery leads to activation of interferon signaling and immune-mediated cytotoxicity selectively in malignant plasma cells and other CD38+ cells. Dexamethasone acts as a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory and anti-myeloma activities.
