ModCAR-GRP94 is a modular chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) cell therapy being developed by Hauul Bio for the treatment of solid tumors, including triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), and colorectal cancer (CRC). The therapy utilizes a modular CAR approach designed to target Glucose-Regulated Protein 94 (GRP94), also known as endoplasmin, a molecular chaperone that is often overexpressed on the surface of various cancer cells and associated with tumor progression and metastasis. By targeting GRP94-positive cells, ModCAR-GRP94 aims to provide a more precise and effective treatment for difficult-to-treat solid malignancies. It is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
