Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Modified Gengnianchun Formula is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal combination, derived from the original Gengnianchun recipe and further modified to enhance its therapeutic effects. It is primarily used for the treatment of diminished ovarian reserve (DOR), menopausal syndrome, and stress-induced reproductive dysfunction. The formula has demonstrated efficacy in alleviating symptoms such as hot flushes, depression, anxiety, and sleep disturbances in peri- and postmenopausal women. Experimental studies suggest that its mechanism involves modulation of oxidative stress pathways—particularly through the PI3K-Akt signaling pathway—and improvement of ovarian function by reducing granulosa cell senescence. The formula does not significantly affect serum follicle-stimulating hormone or estradiol levels but improves quality of life with minimal adverse effects[1][5][8].
