Overview
Modified Guizhi Fuling is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formula being investigated for its therapeutic potential in various conditions. It is currently undergoing a double-blinded, randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trial for the treatment of menopausal syndrome, where it is administered as granules. Additionally, research has explored its multi-target inhibitory mechanisms in prostate cancer cells, demonstrating its ability to suppress proliferation, migration, and invasion. Through large-scale transcriptional analysis and network pharmacology, Modified Guizhi Fuling has been shown to act on key targets such as AKT serine/threonine kinase 1 (AKT1), Caspase-8 (CASP8), Cyclin-Dependent Kinase 1 (CDK1), and Cyclin D1 (CCND1), and is associated with modulating the TNF signaling pathway, cellular senescence, and the FoxO signaling pathway. Potential bioactive compounds identified include baicalein, quercetin, and 5-[[5-(4-methoxyphenyl)-2-furyl] methylene] barbituric acid.
