Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Modified Hua-yu Qiang-shen Tong-bi Decoction is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formula used primarily for the prevention and treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. It is a modification of the original Huayu-Qiangshen-Tongbi Decoction, which has been developed and clinically observed for over 20 years by the Department of Rheumatology and Immunology at Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine. The decoction consists of multiple herbs designed to reduce inflammation and modulate immune responses associated with rheumatoid arthritis. Mechanistically, it has been shown to attenuate RA by upregulating miR-125b, which suppresses NF-κB-induced inflammation via targeting casein kinase 2 (CK2), leading to reduced production of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) and interleukin-6 (IL-6). The modified version may include adjustments in herb composition or dosage based on clinical experience or specific patient needs[2][3][4][7].
