Overview

Modified Phl p 1 is a recombinant hypoallergen developed by Desentum for the treatment of grass pollen allergy. It is a genetically engineered version of Phl p 1, the major allergen in Timothy grass (*Phleum pratense*) pollen. The protein has been modified to significantly reduce its IgE-binding capacity, which minimizes the risk of allergic reactions during administration, while preserving the T-cell epitopes necessary to induce long-term immunological tolerance. Intended for subcutaneous immunotherapy (SCIT), the drug aims to provide a safer and more efficient alternative to traditional allergen extracts used in desensitization therapy by promoting the production of protective IgG antibodies and modulating T-cell responses.
