Overview
Modified Qing Fei Pai Du Tang (mQFPD) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formulation developed by the University of California, San Diego, for the treatment of mild-to-moderate COVID-19 in outpatients. It is a 21-herb formula derived from the classic Qing Fei Pai Du Tang, which itself is a combination of four traditional remedies described in the *Shang Han Lun*: Ma Xing Shi Gan Tang, She Gan Tang, Xiao Chai Hu Tang, and Wu Ling San. The formula is designed to support respiratory function and maintain normal body temperature. It has been evaluated in a Phase 1 randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial to assess its safety and feasibility in self-quarantined patients.
