Overview
Modified Shengyang sanhuo decoction is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula modified from the classic Shengyang Sanhuo decoction, originally described in the *Pi Wei Lun* (Treatise on the Spleen and Stomach). It is being developed and evaluated by The Third Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang Chinese Medicine University for the treatment of oral ulcers induced by targeted anticancer therapies. The formula is based on the TCM "Yin Fire" theory, which posits that internal heat or "fire" trapped in the body can lead to mucosal damage. The decoction aims to "ascend yang" and "disperse fire" to promote the healing of the oral mucosa. In clinical study ChiCTR2000039427, it is evaluated as a combination therapy with vitamin B2.
