Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ModraPac005 is a novel oral formulation of paclitaxel developed by Modra Pharmaceuticals. It is designed to be administered orally, often in combination with a boosting agent (ritonavir), to improve the pharmacokinetics and tolerability compared to traditional intravenous paclitaxel. Paclitaxel is a member of the taxane class of chemotherapeutic agents and acts primarily as a tubulin inhibitor, disrupting microtubule function and thereby inhibiting cell division in cancer cells. The oral formulation aims to address limitations associated with IV administration such as hospital-based infusions and excipient-related toxicities. ModraPac005/r has been investigated for use in various solid tumors[1][2][3].
