Overview

MOG CAR-Treg is an investigational autologous chimeric antigen receptor regulatory T-cell (CAR-Treg) therapy developed by PolTREG for the treatment of neuroinflammatory and neurodegenerative diseases, including multiple sclerosis (MS), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and MOG antibody disease (MOGAD). The therapy involves engineering a patient's own regulatory T cells (Tregs) to express a CAR specific for myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG), a protein found on the surface of myelin sheaths in the central nervous system. Upon administration, these engineered Tregs are designed to localize to the CNS and, upon binding to MOG, activate localized immunosuppressive mechanisms to dampen autoimmune responses and promote tissue repair. This targeted approach aims to provide therapeutic benefit without the risks associated with systemic immunosuppression.
