Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Mogoltacin is a **sesquiterpene coumarin** compound isolated from the fruits of *Ferula badrakema*. It has been investigated for its potential as an **adjuvant chemotherapeutic agent**. While mogoltacin alone does not exhibit significant cytotoxicity against bladder cancer cell lines (notably transitional cell carcinoma), it can **enhance the cytotoxic effects** of standard chemotherapeutic agents such as vincristine and cisplatin. Mechanistic studies suggest its potentiating effect may involve increasing DNA damage and apoptosis in cancer cells, but it does not significantly affect multidrug resistance transporter activity.
