Molecule-2 is a novel Eugenol-based hybrid molecule developed as a selective inhibitor of Histone Deacetylase 6 (HDAC6) for the treatment of cancer. Part of a new generation of hybrid natural antioxidants, Molecule-2 was designed to overcome the life-threatening adverse effects and poor pharmacokinetic parameters associated with traditional hydroxamate-based HDAC inhibitors, such as Vorinostat (SAHA). By incorporating a natural antioxidant scaffold derived from Eugenol, the molecule demonstrates improved safety, superior in silico pharmacokinetic parameters, and the ability to cross the blood-brain barrier (BBB). Experimental evaluations have shown that Molecule-2 possesses significant antineoplastic activity in vitro against breast cancer cell lines, including MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231, where it induces apoptosis and cell cycle arrest.
