Overview

MOMA-989 is an oral, highly potent, and brain-penetrant selective poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase 1 (PARP1) inhibitor. It is being developed as a next-generation targeted therapy for patients with tumors displaying homologous recombination deficiency (HRD), a genetic vulnerability found in various cancers. The drug is designed to selectively inhibit PARP1, thereby exploiting the DNA repair weaknesses in HRD tumors to induce cancer cell death. MOMA Therapeutics acquired global rights to MOMA-989 through an exclusive license agreement and is responsible for all further research, development, and commercialization of the asset. The company plans to develop MOMA-989 both as a single agent and in combination with its Polθ helicase inhibitor (MOMA-313), aiming for synergistic anti-tumor effects. An investigational new drug (IND) application filing with the FDA is anticipated by the end of 2025[1][2][8].
