Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Mometasone furoate + salicylic acid is a fixed-dose topical combination of a potent synthetic corticosteroid (mometasone furoate) and a keratolytic agent (salicylic acid). Mometasone furoate acts as an agonist of the glucocorticoid receptor, inhibiting inflammatory mediators such as prostaglandins and cytokines to reduce redness, swelling, and itching. Salicylic acid breaks down keratin clumps in the skin, removes dead cells through exfoliation, softens plaques or scales (especially in psoriasis), and enhances the penetration of mometasone into affected skin layers. This combination is primarily indicated for dermatological conditions such as psoriasis and eczema where both anti-inflammatory and exfoliating actions are beneficial[1][5][6]. The product is applied topically.
