A mono-epitope anti-CDH17 antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) is a targeted therapeutic agent designed to treat cancers overexpressing Cadherin-17 (CDH17), such as colorectal, gastric, and pancreatic adenocarcinomas. The molecule consists of a monoclonal antibody that binds to a single specific epitope on the CDH17 protein, conjugated to a cytotoxic payload. Upon binding to the target on the tumor cell surface, the ADC is internalized, leading to the intracellular release of the payload and subsequent cell death. In preclinical studies, mono-epitope ADCs are often used as comparative controls to evaluate the efficacy of more complex architectures, such as biparatopic ADCs, which may offer superior internalization rates and anti-tumor activity.
