Overview

A1G4 is an anti-idiotype monoclonal antibody vaccine developed as an immunotherapeutic agent. It is designed to mimic the antigenic determinants of a specific tumor-associated antigen by using an anti-idiotypic approach, thereby stimulating the immune system to recognize and mount a response against cancer cells expressing that antigen. This strategy leverages the concept of idiotype–anti-idiotype network theory in immunology, where the administered antibody (A1G4) acts as a surrogate for tumor antigens and induces both humoral and cellular immune responses targeting malignant cells[2][4]. The primary indication investigated for this agent has been cancer therapy.
