Overview

Monoclonal antibody F19 is a murine (mouse-derived) monoclonal antibody that targets fibroblast activation protein (FAP), a cell-surface glycoprotein highly expressed on reactive stromal fibroblasts in the tumor microenvironment of most epithelial cancers and some soft tissue sarcomas. It binds specifically to FAP-positive cells but shows minimal binding to normal tissues. The radiolabeled form (e.g., 131I-mAbF19) has been investigated for tumor imaging and as a potential therapeutic agent by delivering ionizing radiation directly to the tumor stroma. Its mechanism of action involves antagonism of fibroblast activation protein, thereby targeting the supportive stroma essential for tumor growth and immune evasion[1][2][3][5].
