Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Monogesic Plus is a topical analgesic gel developed by Bal Pharma Limited, specifically within its Vibrant Division. It is a multi-ingredient small molecule formulation designed for the localized treatment of pain and inflammation. The product contains diclofenac diethylamine, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that inhibits cyclooxygenase enzymes to reduce prostaglandin synthesis; methyl salicylate and menthol, which act as counterirritants to provide warming and cooling sensations that alleviate pain perception; and linseed oil, which provides emollient properties and additional anti-inflammatory effects through alpha-linolenic acid. It is primarily indicated for musculoskeletal pain, various forms of arthritis (including osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis), backaches, sprains, and strains. The gel is formulated for quick absorption and is marketed as a non-greasy topical treatment.
