Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Monorova + Amlopin is a fixed-dose combination medication used for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure). It contains two active pharmaceutical ingredients: - Monorova, which is a brand name for atenolol, a beta-blocker that works by relaxing blood vessels and slowing heart rate to improve blood flow and decrease blood pressure[8]. - Amlopin, which is a brand name for amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker that lowers blood pressure by relaxing the smooth muscle in the vessel walls, allowing easier blood flow and reducing cardiac workload[3][4]. The combination of these two agents provides an additive antihypertensive effect by targeting different mechanisms involved in regulating vascular tone and cardiac output. This dual approach helps achieve better control of high blood pressure than either agent alone.
