Monosialotetrahexosylganglioside (GM1) + paclitaxel is a combination therapy being investigated for the prevention or treatment of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN). GM1 is a neuroprotective glycosphingolipid that repairs nerves and has antioxidant properties, while paclitaxel is a chemotherapeutic agent commonly used in breast cancer treatment that is known to cause peripheral neurotoxicity. The combination is being studied to determine if GM1 can reduce or prevent the neuropathy caused by paclitaxel treatment.
