Montagenix-L

Montagenix-L is a commercial generic pharmaceutical formulation developed and marketed by Nilegenix, an Indian pharmaceutical company based in Sangli, Maharashtra. It is a fixed-dose combination of two active ingredients: montelukast and levocetirizine. Montelukast is a selective leukotriene receptor antagonist that inhibits the cysteinyl leukotriene CysLT1 receptor, thereby reducing inflammation and mucus production in the airways. Levocetirizine is a second-generation, non-sedating antihistamine that acts as a potent and selective antagonist of peripheral H1 receptors, effectively alleviating symptoms such as sneezing, rhinorrhea, and ocular itching. The combination is indicated for the management of allergic rhinitis (both seasonal and perennial) and allergic skin conditions like chronic urticaria, providing a synergistic effect by targeting two different inflammatory pathways.
