Montanide ISA-51 + survivin peptide vaccine

Montanide ISA-51 + survivin peptide vaccine is a combination immunotherapeutic formulation consisting of a survivin-derived peptide (a tumor-associated antigen) emulsified with the adjuvant Montanide ISA-51. Montanide ISA-51 is a water-in-oil emulsion adjuvant composed of mineral oil and mannide monooleate, designed to enhance immune responses by creating a depot effect at the injection site, resulting in slow and prolonged antigen release[1][2][6][8]. Survivin peptides are used as cancer antigens to stimulate cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) responses against tumor cells expressing survivin, an inhibitor of apoptosis protein overexpressed in many cancers. The combination aims to induce strong CD8+ and CD4+ T cell-mediated immunity against tumors[8]. This approach is primarily investigated for cancer immunotherapy, especially in solid tumors such as melanoma and lung cancer.
