Overview

This is a fixed combination of five well-characterized pharmaceutical agents—montelukast, flurbiprofen, omeprazole, midazolam, and digoxin—used together as a "drug–drug interaction cocktail" in clinical pharmacology studies. Each component serves as a probe substrate for specific metabolic enzymes or transporters: montelukast (CYP2C8), flurbiprofen (CYP2C9), omeprazole (CYP2C19), midazolam (CYP3A4), and digoxin (P-glycoprotein). The combination is not intended for therapeutic use but rather to assess the potential for drug–drug interactions by evaluating the effect of investigational drugs on these key metabolic pathways in healthy volunteers[1][5]. This approach allows simultaneous assessment of multiple enzyme activities in vivo.
