Overview

MORAb-028 is a fully human recombinant IgM monoclonal antibody that targets the disialoganglioside GD2, a cell surface ganglioside highly expressed on melanoma cells and some other tumor types. Its mechanism of action involves binding to GD2 and stimulating the immune system to exert complement-mediated cytotoxicity against GD2-expressing tumor cells. The drug was developed for use in metastatic melanoma but development was discontinued after phase 1 clinical trials. The original technology was licensed from Micromet by Morphotek, which later became a subsidiary of Eisai[1][2][3][4].
