Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MORAb-050 is a fully human IgM monoclonal antibody developed by Morphotek (a subsidiary of Eisai) in collaboration with the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research. It is designed to target ganglioside GM3, a glycosphingolipid that is highly expressed on the surface of various cancer cells, particularly in metastatic melanoma. As an IgM antibody, MORAb-050 is intended to leverage the high avidity and potent complement-activating properties characteristic of the IgM isotype to induce tumor cell lysis. The program reached the IND-enabling phase for the treatment of metastatic melanoma.
