Morella cerifera pollen

Morella cerifera pollen, also known as Myrica cerifera pollen or southern bayberry, is an allergenic extract derived from the pollen of the Morella cerifera plant. [3, 4] It is a biologic product approved in the United States in 1965 and is used for diagnostic purposes in allergy testing. [3] Administered as an intradermal injection, it helps to establish the clinical relevance of specific allergens by inducing a localized allergic reaction (wheal and flare) in sensitized individuals. [1] This product is intended for diagnostic skin testing only and is not used for therapeutic treatment. [1, 2] It is distributed by companies such as ALK-Abello, Inc. as a non-standardized allergenic extract.
