Overview

Moriah 1000 (also known as M1K or Moriah-1000) is a synthetic peptide drug candidate developed by Ensol Biosciences for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. Its mechanism of action involves inhibiting the interaction between amyloid beta-protein and its transporter receptor RAGE (Receptor for Advanced Glycation Endproducts). By binding to RAGE, Moriah 1000 blocks the transport of beta-amyloid into the brain, thereby preventing amyloid plaque formation and subsequent neuroinflammation and neuronal death. This action is intended to slow disease progression and improve learning and memory functions in Alzheimer's disease models. The drug is classified as an antidementia agent within the peptide class. As of June 2024, development remains at the preclinical stage with no reported clinical trials[1][2][3][10].
