Moringa mouthwash

Moringa mouthwash is an investigational herbal oral rinse containing an extract of *Moringa oleifera* leaves, specifically being developed and studied by Nahda University in Egypt. The formulation is prepared using a 90% ethanol extraction process to isolate bioactive compounds including alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, terpenoids, glycosides, and saponins. It is primarily indicated for the prevention and treatment of dental caries in children by leveraging its antimicrobial properties against *Streptococcus mutans*, the primary causative bacterium of tooth decay. The mouthwash aims to reduce bacterial counts and inhibit the formation of biofilms on tooth surfaces. It has been evaluated in clinical trials at various concentrations (5%, 10%, and 15%) to determine the optimal antibacterial potency.
