Moringa oleifera leaf polyphenols is an investigational botanical extract derived from the leaves of the *Moringa oleifera* (drumstick tree). It consists of a complex mixture of polyphenolic compounds, primarily flavonoids (such as quercetin and kaempferol) and phenolic acids, which are recognized for their potent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties. The extract is currently being evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials as a topical treatment to accelerate the healing of split-thickness skin graft (STSG) donor site wounds. Its therapeutic mechanism involves the scavenging of reactive oxygen species (ROS) to reduce oxidative stress, modulation of inflammatory pathways, and the stimulation of keratinocyte and fibroblast proliferation and migration, which are critical for effective re-epithelialization and tissue regeneration. The development of this botanical drug candidate is primarily led by academic researchers at the Université de Goma.
