Moringa oleifera polysaccharides (MOP, MOLP) are high-molecular-weight carbohydrate polymers extracted from the leaves, seeds, or other parts of the Moringa oleifera plant, widely recognized for their nutritional and pharmacological properties. These natural polysaccharides exert immunomodulatory, antioxidative, anti-inflammatory, antidiabetic, antitumor, and gut microbiota-modulating effects. Mechanistically, they have been shown to suppress key inflammatory pathways, notably by inhibiting TLR4/MyD88/NF-κB signaling in colonic tissue and reducing the expression and activation of associated pro-inflammatory molecules such as TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-1β. Animal studies show efficacy in models of ulcerative colitis, obesity, and alcoholic liver injury, and preliminary data support a role as prebiotics by beneficially reshaping gut microbiota composition (e.g., increasing Bacteroides abundance). MOPs have also demonstrated anti-obesity and hypolipidemic actions, ameliorating insulin resistance and improving lipid metabolism. There are no registered pharmaceutical developers; production is typical of the dietary supplement sector[2][3][4][5][6][7].
