Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Morphine-TFCS-KLH** is an investigational active immunotherapy vaccine for opioid use disorder. It is a covalent conjugate consisting of a 6-glutarylmorphine hapten linked through a six-carbon TFCS linker to keyhole limpet hemocyanin. Subcutaneous vaccination in rats elicited antibodies that bound morphine, heroin, and 6-acetylmorphine, reducing peripheral drug availability and thereby attenuating opioid-induced dopaminergic and behavioral effects, including heroin-primed reinstatement of drug seeking. The program has been reported in preclinical rat studies and in a Peking University patent. ([ncbi.nlm.nih.gov](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4376548/))
