Overview

MoRu-Viraten is a live attenuated combination vaccine designed for active immunization against measles and rubella. It contains weakened forms of the measles virus and the rubella virus (specifically the Wistar RA 27/3 strain). The vaccine works by mimicking a natural infection to stimulate the immune system to produce long-lasting protective antibodies and cellular immunity without causing the disease itself. Originally developed by Berna Biotech (now part of Janssen/Johnson & Johnson), it is primarily used in pediatric populations to prevent measles-related complications and congenital rubella syndrome.
