Morus rubra pollen extract is a biological, non-standardized allergenic extract derived from the pollen of the red mulberry tree (*Morus rubra*). [1, 4, 10] It is indicated for both the diagnosis (via skin testing) and treatment (via allergen immunotherapy) of individuals with immediate hypersensitivity (Type I allergy) to red mulberry pollen. [2, 3, 5, 10] In sensitized individuals, exposure to the pollen can cause respiratory allergies including allergic rhinitis, allergic rhino-conjunctivitis, and asthma. [1, 5, 6] As a diagnostic tool, the extract is administered percutaneously or intradermally to elicit a localized wheal-and-flare reaction. [2, 3] As immunotherapy, the extract is administered subcutaneously in gradually increasing doses to desensitize the patient's immune system and induce immunologic tolerance. [2, 3]
