Mosaic SOSIPs are engineered HIV-1 envelope glycoprotein (Env) trimer-based immunogens designed to present a diverse array of epitopes from multiple HIV strains. They are used as vaccine candidates to elicit broad and potent antibody responses targeting conserved regions of the virus, with the goal of inducing broadly neutralizing antibodies (bNAbs). These constructs are typically formulated as nanoparticles for improved immunogenicity and stability. In preclinical studies, mosaic SOSIPs have shown enhanced induction of antigen-specific B cells and antibody responses compared to single-strain or simple cocktail formulations[1].
