Overview

MOTO-CAR (Monocyte-to-Macrophage CAR) is a proprietary in vivo cell therapy platform developed by Thunder Biotech. The technology utilizes nanoparticles to deliver genetic material encoding Chimeric Antigen Receptors (CARs) directly to monocytes and macrophages within the patient's body, bypassing the need for complex ex vivo manufacturing. Once engineered, these CAR-macrophages are designed to infiltrate solid tumors, recognize specific antigens (such as HER2 or Mesothelin), and stimulate a localized immune response while remodeling the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment. The platform is being evaluated for the treatment of various solid tumors and inflammatory conditions.
