Overview
A mouse-derived (murine) monoclonal antibody that specifically binds to and neutralizes human interleukin-8 (IL-8), a proinflammatory chemokine involved in the recruitment and activation of neutrophils. By inhibiting IL-8, this drug reduces inflammation and is used primarily for immune-mediated skin diseases such as eczema and psoriasis. The mechanism of action is direct binding to human IL-8, thereby blocking its interaction with receptors CXCR1 and CXCR2 on target cells, which prevents downstream inflammatory signaling. This class of antibodies has been developed for both research use and clinical application, including topical formulations for dermatological conditions[2][3][5][9].
