Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A vaccine consisting of a plasmid DNA encoding the murine prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA). Upon administration, expressed PSMA may stimulate a cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) response against tumor cells expressing PSMA, resulting in decreased tumor growth. PSMA is a type 2 integral membrane glycoprotein abundantly expressed on the surface of prostate carcinomas and the neovasculature of most other solid tumors.
