Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Cydectin + Triclamox is a veterinary anthelmintic combination product marketed by Wayzon Pharma, containing the active ingredients moxidectin and triclabendazole. Moxidectin is a second-generation macrocyclic lactone of the milbemycin class that provides potent, broad-spectrum activity against gastrointestinal roundworms, lungworms, and certain ectoparasites by binding to glutamate-gated chloride channels, leading to hyperpolarization and flaccid paralysis of the parasite. Triclabendazole is a benzimidazole derivative uniquely effective against all stages of the liver fluke (Fasciola hepatica), from early immature to adult forms, by interfering with tubulin polymerization and microtubule-dependent processes. This combination is primarily indicated for the treatment and control of mixed infections of moxidectin-sensitive nematodes and triclabendazole-sensitive liver flukes in livestock such as sheep and cattle.
