Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Moxidex Eye Drop is an antibiotic used for the treatment of bacterial infections of the eye. It works by inhibiting the growth of bacteria responsible for infection, thereby relieving symptoms such as pain, redness, itching, or soreness associated with bacterial conjunctivitis and other ocular infections. The active ingredient in Moxidex Eye Drop is typically moxifloxacin, a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic that exerts its bactericidal effect by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase (topoisomerase II) and topoisomerase IV—enzymes essential for DNA replication and cell division in bacteria[5][6]. This medication is intended for topical ophthalmic use only.
