Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MP-1959-ADC is a preclinical-stage antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) developed by MediaPharma that targets Galectin-3 Binding Protein (Gal-3BP), also known as LGALS3BP or 90K. Gal-3BP is a secreted glycoprotein that is highly overexpressed in various solid malignancies, including breast, colon, and pancreatic cancers, where it is associated with tumor progression, neo-angiogenesis, and metastasis. The ADC utilizes the humanized monoclonal antibody MP-1959 to selectively bind to Gal-3BP on the surface of cancer cells or within the tumor microenvironment. Upon binding, the complex is internalized, leading to the intracellular release of a potent cytotoxic payload that induces cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. MediaPharma is developing this candidate as a targeted therapy for Gal-3BP-positive solid tumors.
