Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MP5-20F3 is a rat monoclonal antibody (IgG1, kappa) that specifically binds to and neutralizes mouse interleukin-6 (IL-6). Originally generated at the DNAX Research Institute, this antibody clone is widely utilized as a research-use-only (RUO) reagent for both in vitro and in vivo neutralization of mouse IL-6 bioactivity. It is also commonly employed in laboratory assays such as ELISA, ELISPOT, and flow cytometry. By blocking IL-6, MP5-20F3 inhibits downstream signaling pathways, including the STAT3 pathway, and is frequently used in preclinical mouse models of inflammation, autoimmune disorders, and cancer to investigate the role of IL-6 in disease pathogenesis.
