Overview

MP529 is a potent and selective small molecule inhibitor of Aurora kinases, specifically targeting Aurora kinase A (AURKA) and Aurora kinase B (AURKB). These kinases are essential regulators of the cell cycle, controlling critical mitotic processes such as centrosome maturation, spindle assembly, and chromosome segregation. MP529 was discovered using the CLIMB (Computational Leveraged Identification of Molecular Bindings) platform, a structure-based drug discovery technology developed by Morphic Therapeutic. By inhibiting Aurora kinases, MP529 disrupts mitosis in rapidly dividing cancer cells, leading to cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. It has been investigated as a potential antineoplastic agent for the treatment of various solid tumors and hematological malignancies where Aurora kinases are frequently overexpressed.
