Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MPB-1514 is a non-sugar, PEG-coated intravenous iron formulation developed for the treatment of iron deficiency anemia. Its design allows for high macrophage phagocytic efficiency and rapid conversion to transferrin-bound iron, facilitating effective red blood cell production. The PEG coating aims to improve safety and reduce hypersensitivity reactions compared to other intravenous iron products. MPB-1514 enables higher dosing with fewer injections, improving patient compliance. Developed by MegaPro Biomedical, it has completed Phase I clinical trials in Taiwan and reached Phase II in the United States[1][2][3][8].
