MPFluc-150

MPFluc-150 is an oral antifungal medication containing 150 mg of fluconazole, developed and marketed by Marriott Pharmaceutical. As a triazole antifungal, it works by inhibiting the fungal enzyme lanosterol 14α-demethylase (CYP51), a cytochrome P-450 enzyme essential for converting lanosterol to ergosterol. The resulting depletion of ergosterol disrupts the integrity of the fungal cell membrane, exerting a fungistatic effect. It is primarily indicated as a single-dose treatment for vulvovaginal candidiasis (vaginal yeast infection) and is also used for other susceptible fungal infections.
